{Note: Typepad keeps eating posts this morning so I'm keeping it brief for now.}
Has anyone seen the new issue of Time? I keep waiting for my wife to "borrow" a copy from her doctor's office. Here's the cover:
Mark Twain on Time. Winston Churchill on Newsweek - followed by Abraham Lincoln vs. Charles Darwin.
Why the sudden interest in figuring out the worth of past idea-driven legends?
(Not that I'm complaining - I've enjoyed seeing someone other than McCain and Obama on the cover of the news weeklies.)

I suspect people have figured out the worth of our current idea-driven legends and found them wanting.
