Baby Marlie got a clean bill of health from our Braves fan pediatrician today: weight good, bilirubin better, cuteness off the charts, Wickman trade better than nothing. As each day passes, Elaine and I are learning just how lucky we are and just how amazing a little life is. The only downfall so far has been the lack of sleep. Even that is not her fault; she's not a complainer at all. It's just a flaw in the design meaning that her feeding has to be done every three hours or so. We actually have to wake her up as if to remind her that she isn't imposing. Yet even these 3, 4, 5am feedings mean more chances to be around her and cuddle her and just appreciate what we have.
Now that I've gushed, I can tell you that I expect to have Syntax of Things back up and running in regular mode by Monday. I'm sure there will be plenty of Marlie updates, but I promise that this won't turn into a daddy blog.
And again, thanks to all of you who have left comments or emailed me or blogged about her birth. It means a lot.
Congrats! She's adorable.

Fabulous photo. Aren't those tiny fingernails the craziest thing?

Nice job on sneaking in the trade news - I missed that somehow. And the feeding schedule will get easier in a bit when you can start putting more time in between.
