The Hold Steady's new album, Boys and Girls, will hit shelves in early October. As if I needed another reason to love the band, check out this quote, which helps to move them up another notch on my favorite bands list:
The album's title is a reference to a line from Jack Kerouac's classic novel "On the Road." Finn explains, "The line goes, 'Boys and girls in America have such a sad time together.' Basically, the songs are about guys and girls, and love. It's not a concept-type record like the last one -- it's more of a theme record."
It's also a partial lyric from "Stuck Between Stations," which is the opening track. Can't wait to hear the new stuff...
