National Novel Writing Month kicked off today, and once again, I won't be participating. Not that I don't think this a worthy goal, but if you could see my schedule for this month you'd see that I'd be lucky to finish a paragraph, much less 50,000 words. I have noticed a couple of bloggers that I read regularly are participating, so good luck to Scott and Cindy. I'll be tracking your progress and can't wait to see the finished results.
As far as my lofty goal for this month--other than staying sane, which might be the loftiest goal I've ever had at this point--I've penciled in November 15th as the day that I will smoke my last cigarette, meaning that the 16th will be my official quit date. It also happens to be my 35th birthday, so if you're looking for a present to give me, and I know you are, I'll be happy with some nicotine gum. Or cash.
By the way, if you're participating in NaNoWriMo, leave a note in the comments. I don't want to leave anyone out.
I'm doin' it! Nano, I mean. Not quitting smoking. I've done that already. It's a piece of cake!
Best of luck.

Thanks for the well-wishes! I'm pleased with my beginning so far. The self-doubt keeps poking at the back of my mind, but I think I'll be able to stake if off for at least a week, and by then I hope my momentum will be able to carry me through.
