The first leg of the trip ended with a minor car accident. Dad, Mom, and I were sitting at a stop light about to get on the freeway to head out of Atlanta when a car exiting the freeway hydroplaned across the road, hitting a street sign and causing it to fall on top of Dad's car. I happened to be looking down at the xm2go, so I didn't see it, but the noise had me thinking that maybe my satellite radio had called down one of the satellites instead of its signal. While there was only minor damage to the car--and no injuries--it seemed to set the tone for what was to be some bad news to follow.
This morning, we found out that the car we are to drive back to San Diego--my new (used) car--has a blown head gasket. While this isn't what I would consider a deal breaker, it does mean a possible major delay to the trip. I won't know until tomorrow if it even will be possible for Dad and I to make the drive, meaning that I may not have a new (used) car after all.
That's how my luck goes sometimes.
I did get to see the Braves win a game.
I have some nice photos that I'll be throwing up on flickr once I get to a USB cable and a broadband connection. Stay tuned.
