Let's just say that I'm glad this week is almost over. I did get a reprieve from jury duty only to be told to check back in this afternoon to see if I should report on Monday. Apparently this could go on for up to five days.
Anyway, apologies for wrapping up the week with a gaggle of links, but I've been working on some things on the side. Nothing as exciting as the Lit Blog Co-op, but I aim for the tall weeds here.
+ Song number 500 of Rolling Stone's Top 500 of all time happens to be the very first 45 I ever owned, Boston's "More than a Feeling."
+ "Sex, cryptic crosswords and a good run could help ward off dementia and other degenerative conditions by stimulating new brain cells, an Australian researcher said Thursday." Where am I? Who am I?
+ In case you missed it on MeFi, go check out the final scene from the movie Seven performed by stuffed animals.
+ To make up for (or perhaps enhance) all the doom and gloom, here's a live version of the Fiery Furnaces' "Police Sweater Blood Vow" from their recent performance on KEXP. {mp3 from Fluxblog}
If Costanza can eat a pastrami sandwhich while bumpin uglies -- I suppose I could fire up the Sunday crossword. [although that may be demented enough to counterbalance any anti-dementia benefits]. balance is the key.
