Instructions on how to migrate to the United States, courtesy of the Mexican government. Guess what they're talking about on the AM squawkbox in San Diego today.

My very random thoughts after three cups of coffee and two citrus muffins and before heading over to the La Jolla Brew House to meet up with Dave, Brett, and HP, my three republican friends, may god forgive their mistaken ways.
First off, please upd... [Read More]

Why don't you tell us what you think about the guide and why?

First of all, my Spanish isn't that great, so I'm not entirely sure what the guide says. Assuming that it is a step-by-step instruction manual on how to safely migrate to the U.S., then I'll just say that I don't think the outcry over this is necessary. Do you really think that this will encourage people to migrate? It kinda reminds me of the argument over sex education in schools. Your not going to stop kids from having sex, so why not show them the safe way to go about it; however, many claim that by doing that you're giving them instructions on how to do it. Same thing applies to this, it seems to me. People are going to illegally migrate here no matter what, so why not give them a few possibly life-saving "tips."

This is not my opinion actually. This is fact.
Mexico's either covert or passive allowance of illegal immigration into the United States is an act of war. When Mexico publishes a manual on "how to immigrate" into the Untied States by swimming across a river, there is a clear effort to disguise a foreign invasion as a "helpful survival guide". A violated peace treaty, such as was the case with Iraq under Saddam, is a sign of aggressive intent. Mexico is blatently violating the Treaty Of Guadalupe Hildalgo.
Article V. of treaty:
The boundary line established by this article shall be religiously respected by each of the two republics, and no change shall ever be made therein, except by the express and free consent of both nations, lawfully given by the General Government of each, in conformity with its own constitution

Feh. I say inciting a war over the "a sign of agressive intent" isn't exactly sensible. Also, these are citizens of Mexico, not ambassadors meant to represent the policy of the government. Crossing the river is an act of survival and livelihood, not a political assault. Crossing the border to work at McDonalds is no more a threat to our society and well-being than using a cell phone while ordering on the other side of the counter.
But the guide! It's great in it's camp value, too. Let's keep the illustrations of sexy vaceros coming! Ay, caliente!
